Mason Paul Joseph Cardwell was born in 1990 in Peterborough, Ontario, and grew up in the town of Keene, Ontario. Mason has wanted to be apart of movies since the age of eight, after having a lead role in a school play. From the ages of ten to thirteen Mason went to a drama summer camp at Market Hall in Peterborough and was trained by actor Phil Oakley. Mason first picked up a digital camera at the age of twelve and filmed his own Jackass video with his brother and friends. In his early teen years Mason was making music videos and short films with his brother and friends on weekends and after school in his parents or friends basements. Mason continued to pursue in drama by taking it for all four years at Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School. At eighteen Mason attended the Toronto Media & Film College where he studied Directing & Film Production. Mason moved back home after film school, had acted in some short films and did some background work while working for his fathers swimming pool company. At twenty two Mason studied Screenwriting at Sir Sandford Fleming College. At twenty three Mason's short comedy film Guys Night had it's premiere screening at Showplace Performance Center in Peterborough, with an attendance of a hundred and ten people. Made 5, thirty minute short films with wrestler action figures and barbie dolls at the age of 12. Did a stand up comedy act for a talent show in grade 8. The second oldest of four children. Inspired to do Comedy by his 3 favorite comedy actors Jim Carrey, Robin Williams and John Candy. Has a collection of Beer Coasters in his garage. Fan of the Detroit Red Wings. In High School, He played Lennie in a Of Mice & Men play. Worked at a Blockbuster just before they all closed down. His favorite rock bands are The Tragically Hip, ACDC, Kim Mitchell, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steve Miller Band. Was known as the class clown through both Public School & High School. Has a huge interest in the paranormal. Mason does investigations as a camera operator with a paranormal crew in his hometown. Took training with the Directors Guild of Canada. Did volunteer work at TVCogeco as a daily camera operator, shooting OHL hockey games and local TV broadcasts. His favorite movies are Saving Private Ryan, Goodfellas, Jurassic Park, The 40 Year Old Virgin and Star Wars: Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back. He is of Scottish decent.
